Abilene Regional Airport
Main Terminal Building
After almost 40 years, the award winning Abilene Regional Airport terminal facility needed improvements to accommodate rapidly expanding passenger and airline traffic, including regional jet service and heightened security requirements. The improvement projects were divided into four (or more) phases, three of which are complete.
Phase One renovation of the existing 33,000 square foot terminal facility included new airline office suites and ticket concourse, administration suite, public restrooms, and baggage handling equipment. Phase Two added a new 15,000 square foot terminal wing, jetways, baggage claim, and security systems. Phase Three provided a restaurant, a gift shop, and a new central mechanical plant for the original facility. Currently, Phase Four will include a new covered passenger drop-off concourse and entrance, an expanded ticket concourse, and renovated public parking.
