Gary Pullin, AIA - Partner
A graduate of the University of Texas and a partner since 1990, Gary has over 39 years in the profession. He provides design leadership for TLP for its Public Education, Industrial and Historic Preservation projects. He has been instrumental in the revitalization of downtown Abilene. He led the transformation of the historic Cypress Building into a major downtown attraction that is now home to the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and the transformation of an abandoned mechanic’s garage into the National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature.
Major Projects
The National Center for Children’s Illustrated Literature, Principal In Charge for design and construction phase services for this adaptive reuse of a historic 10,000 SF building in the Abilene Commercial Historic District. Design includes administrative spaces, a multi-function exhibit room, a classroom/art studio, and curatorial spaces.
The Cypress Building Historic Rehabilitation, Principal In Charge for design and construction phase services for the rehabilitation and adaptive reuse of the historic Windsor Hotel. This building is the oldest commercial building in Abilene and houses commercial spaces on the ground floor and offices for the Abilene Chamber of Commerce and the Abilene Industrial Foundation on the 2nd and 3rd floors.
Abilene Independent School District 2004 and 2008 Facility Surveys, Principal In charge for evaluations and recommendations for all of AISD’s facilities in preparation for capital campaigns. Developed a needs analysis, design concepts and cost estimates.
Development Corporation of Abilene Industrial Buildings, Principal In Charge for design and construction phases for a 100,000 SF shell industrial building. Assisted the Owner in making marketing presentations to potential tenants.
